A Local Guide to San Diego’s Padel Clubs and Courts
Padel in San Diego
The first courts in San Diego opened in Barnes Tennis Center in Point Loma (run by Taktika) in 2021. Since then there have been multiple new clubs open as well as more planned. Each club operates differently so we'll guide you through the different options at each club and how to get playing Padel.
Global Growth
Padel is officially the fastest-growing sport in the world, with over 30 million players globally and a new club opening every few hours. While it began as a powerhouse in Europe and South America, the "Padel Fever" has firmly landed in the United States. Florida led the initial charge and became the nation's primary hub, centered largely in Miami. Now, that momentum has shifted West to California. San Diego is rapidly transforming into the sport's Southern California epicenter. With a perfect year-round climate and an active community, the city is seeing a massive surge in development as world-class facilities set a new national standard for the sport.

Getting on the Court: What you Need to Know
San Diego’s padel scene is a bit of a mixed bag. You’ve got everything from high-end private clubs to "pay-to-play" public spots. Most places use the Playtomic app for bookings, but a few of the newer, more exclusive spots have moved to their own proprietary apps. Here’s the breakdown of how to actually get a game.
Pay-to-Play
Taktika in Barnes Tennis Center in Point Loma has 7 outdoor courts. They use the Playtomic app for booking, and while they technically have a membership tier, most people just book and pay as they go. It’s the most straightforward and cheapest way to get on a court in the city.
Kingdom of Padel in Bay Ho has 2 outdoor and 4 indoor courts. Anyone can book directly through Playtomic but they also offer a membership that pays for itself if you’re a regular at their Open Play sessions.
Padel California has 2 outdoor courts in Oceanside. Also on Playtomic, they offer a hybrid model meaning anyone can book, but members get a 20% discount on everything from court time to gear.
Membership-Heavy
Padel N9ne in Sorrento Valley has 8 outdoor courts and does allow the public to book directly through their own app but rates are extremely high unless you are a member.
Private Clubs
Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa in Rancho Santa Fe has 3 Padel courts available to those staying at the resort or for those with a membership package ($365 per month & $3950 initiation fee).
La Valle Coastal Club also in Rancho Santa Fe has 2 courts available for members only (membership starts at $ per month).
